PAES and CIAP Forge Partnership to Integrate Construction Contract Standards in Engineering Education

The Philippine Association of Engineering Schools (PAES) and the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), through its implementing arm, the Philippine Domestic Construction Board (PDCB), has entered into a strategic partnership to enhance engineering education by integrating industry-standard contract practices into academic curricula.

Central to this collaboration is the promotion and recommendation to include CIAP Document 102, also known as the Uniform General Conditions of Contract for Private Construction, in the syllabi of engineering programs . This initiative aims to equip future engineers with a strong foundation in construction contract management, project implementation, and risk managementโ€”skills essential for success in the construction industry

PDCB Executive Director Doris U. Gacho and PAES President Romano Q. Neyra led the MOU signing ceremony held in PDCB Office. Through this partnership, PDCB will provide training for faculty members and assist in the development of course content that reflects real-world contract practices. PAES, in turn, will encourage its member institutions to adopt the updated syllabi and provide feedback on its implementation and impact.
